The Theory and Practice of Corbynism

There have been no blog posts here for a while, because I have been writing a book – “The Theory and Practice of Corbynism”.

It’s a critical look at Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership of the Labour Party, examining why he won such an overwhelming victory in the 2015 leadership election, and at the political factors at work behind his leadership, including the model of party structure that his supporters advocate, the politics of the surge in membership since 2015, and the common philosophical heritage that Corbynism shares with other forms of political populism.

The book looks in greater detail at Corbyn’s economic policy, the policy on Brexit and the phenomenon of antisemitism in the Labour Party.  It concludes that a return to the core social democratic values of the Labour Party is essential if austerity and political populism are to be defeated.

The book is available in paperback and Kindle formats and can be purchased from Amazon here.
